Aug. 20, 2008: Women-owned Business Networking Roundtable Set for September Meeting

On Thursday, Sept. 4, the Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training (WNET) will offer women business owners an opportunity to participate in networking roundtable discussions regarding advertising and marketing, employment issues, customer retention and satisfaction, accounting, balancing business and family and “thriving on chaos.”

The meeting will be held at 8 a.m. at the Oswego State Education Center in the Oswego County Industrial Park, Phoenix (exit 14, state Route 481).

Specific discussion topics will include:

  • What is the message or image you want to convey to your customers?
  • How do you know you are getting the right person for the job?
  • What is your best source for finding new customers and how do you keep them coming back?
  • What is your secret for managing your time?
  • What is the single best idea you’ve used to keep your family life sane while operating your business?

The remainder of WNET’s fall schedule is as follows:

  • Oct. 2: “Law 101 for Small Businesses” with attorney Gay Williams;

  • Nov. 6: WNET Member Marketplace, moderated by WNET Lead Team; and

  • Dec. 4: “Just for Fun!” cake decorating seminar by Cakes Galore.

Through networking, presentations and information sharing, WNET provides professional development and personal growth for women business owners.

The cost for each seminar is $12 for members and $15 for non-members. The WNET 2008-2009 (Sept. 08-Aug.09) membership cost is $25. Each seminar includes a light breakfast.

WNET is supported locally by Operation Oswego County, Oswego State Education Center, Alliance Bank, BeautiControl, Jody Frawley Advertising and Promotion, Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County, Oliver Paine Greenhouses and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
